Όπως είπαμε και την άλλη εβδομάδα, στην Τσακωνιά, ο έρωτας, ήταν πανταχού παρών και παντοδύναμος. Δεν παρουσιαζόταν όμως ελεύθερος και αχαλίνωτος, αλλά απαγορευμένος, κρυμμένος επιδέξια,εξιδανικευμένος, και πολυμήχανος. Ο τρόπος που μιλά ένας λαός για τον έρωτα δείχνει την κοινωνία και τον πολιτισμό του. Είναι εύκολο να καταλάβουμε γιατί η κοινωνία εδώ στην Τσακωνιά ήταν συντηρητική. Απομονωμένη και αποκομμένη από τον κόσμο, στις κορυφογραμμές, στα καταράχια στις πλεύρες του Μαλεβού χωρίς επικοινωνία, ο δρόμος για το Άργος άνοιξε το 1956, κράτησε όπως ήταν φυσικό τα αυστηρά ήθη και έθιμα της. Ο Τσάκωνας είναι δεμένος με τις παραδόσεις του και δεν δέσετε καινούρια στοιχεία. Όλα τα μετράει και όλα τα υπολογίζει. Λίγες φορές ή ποτέ, θα κάνει κάτι απερίσκεπτα και απρογραμμάτιστα. Γι’αυτό πετυχαίνει το σκοπό του τις περισσότερες φορές. Η ζωή του είναι υποταγμένοι στους κανόνες. Και το καινούριο θα το δεχτεί σιγά σιγά . Μέσα σε αυτό τον τόπο οι Τσάκωνες λάτρεψαν την γυναίκα του Ομήρου,υποταγμένη, γλυκομίλητη, άξια νοικοκυρά και πίστη Πηνελόπη. Δεν επιτρεπόταν καμιά παράβαση στον κανόνα. Μια Τσακώνικη παροιμία, που δείχνει την Τσακώνικη νοοτροπία, λέει : « η κόρη και το σπασμένο πόδι δεν βγαίνουν στη ρουγα» Για το φόβο μην ακουστεί το όνομα της κόρης πολλοί γονείς πάντρευαν τα κορίτσια μικρά γι’αυτό και το δίστιχο: « η κόρη στα δεκαπέντε είναι μάλαμα στα είκοσι διαμάντι και στα εικοσιπέντε της μπακίρι και σκουριάζει ..Ν
